You will need to verify if you have a Gen1 or Gen2 upper. Also note that if you know you have a Gen 1 upper/FX-9 but have purchase the parts to upgrade it to a Gen 2 you will need to purchase a Gen 2 warhammer even if the serial number checker notes that you have a Gen 1.
